My Career Life
The ambition of becoming a doctor is not what I do for living now.
During my very most young age, I would like to be a docotor who cures sick people. Every time I had the chance of watching tv or movies with a doctor character, I would always day dreaming of becoming a doctor somebody. But as they say, change is the most permanent thing in this world. And because of an event that took place,.. becoming a doctor is suddenly changed.
One day, I am at the house of my grandparents. My mom was in abroad working particularly in Kuwait. My dad went to Magat River with some of our neighbors and uncles to catch fish. I was watching tv then. Around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, I saw my dad getting down of the jeep whom he is driving with bloody red all over his white tshirt coming from his head. I was so shocked and couldn't speak or even move to where I am sitting. Then tears begun to fall from my face - I am crying already. And to cut the story short - that's the reason I stop dreaming to become a doctor.
I am an IT instructor at the Isabela State University - Cauayan Campus since June 2004 to present.
Fortunately, I was hired by the the University after I graduated on April 19, 2004 as a Guidance Clerk for the month of May 2004 only recieving a barely one thousand pesos. After that month, I worked as an IT instructor together with my former instructors and three newly hired IT instructors as well.
I worked so hard, responsively and giving my very best in everything I do. Aside from my duties as an instructor, I even rendered extra time without proper compensation. I would attend to different training and seminars on my own expense together with other contractual instructors. Because we believe that we need to guard ourselves by joining other professional associations in the field of IT and participating in the different seminars, workshops and trainings. Life before was so simple and easy. Tasks and responsibilities are the same.
Now, I am facing a very difficult challenge being designated as Program Chair for the course Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. There are many changes with regards to duties and responsibilities. I am so busy with a lot of works to be accomplished. Most of the time, I dont have enough rest or form of relaxation because I am confined with the many things to do.
Nevertheless, as the saying says, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." And so, I need to find time to relax and be relaxed. Time management is really the solution for it. I am enjoying myself with the many works I have as an IT Instructor, BSIT Program Chair, SBO Adviser, a son, a brother to my two siblings, uncle to my nephews and nieces, cousin to my cousins, relative to my relative, friend to my friends and... a HUMAN to the WORLD.
